Meet "cinda b"...

So it's Mardi Gras right now here in Louisiana and I'm sure if you came down here from somewhere, you packed a bag, right? Or two? Or three?? The only way to do it right is to stay in New Orleans, experience the parades, the throws, the food, king cake, etc.

Well, we are here to tell you that the only way to travel right is to travel with cinda b!!!! For those of you who have not heard of Mrs. Cinda Boomershine (cinda b) or utilized her luggage/travel pieces, you are missing out and I am about to tell you why!!

Let's chat about her just a sec:

Cinda Boomershine began as an interior designer and started her own firm in Atlanta in 2002. She was noticed for her fabulous style and asked to join TBS's Movie and a Makeover which she continues today. When she was traveling to all see all her different clients, she struggled to find that perfect bag she could utilize. This gave her the idea for the line of cinda b. We have had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Cinda B at the Atlanta Market and she is wonderful! She has that ability to make you feel like you are the only one in the room and she really does appreciate her retailers, fans, customers, everything! She's super sweet and I love that we carry her line!

Now, let's chat about the bags:

The cinda b line is made of poly/nylon and all pieces are MACHINE WASHABLE!! They range from cosmetic cases, purses/handbags, jewelry cases, 3-piece luggage sets and much more! There are 14 color patterns to choose from so you will have no problem finding the one that speaks to you! This line is very durable and extremely light-weight. I personally carry the 3-piece luggage set and the super tote and absolutely love them! I have traveled with them in cars, on planes, and taken them on a cruise...they still look brand new!

We began carrying the cinda b line in 2010. Laura saw some pieces in a store in Florida and thought "we have to have this!" We have continued to carry it and have very loyal customers! They are fantastic luggage pieces, functional and super cute! And the best part...they are all MADE IN THE USA!!!

Here's a pic of my personal collection :)

This pic shows the 3-piece luggage set (vacationer, weekender, overnighter), x-large cosmetic case, the garment bag "that grows" and the super tote!

Any of you carry cinda b luggage? We'd love to hear about your experience with it and your favorite piece!

WE LOVE CINDA B!!!!

The Beginning...

So, here we go!! Yes, we are the ladies of The Bag Lady! Two good friends who wanted to do something together, from home and maybe make a living with it! :) Well, here we are! For those of you who knew The Bag Lady before we were the "ladies", we are the new owners and as I say in all my info on this blog...WE LOVE IT! Let me give you some background info...

A little over a year ago, we were sitting together having some lunch discussing what could be...how we could own our own business. We are talented! We are creative! Yes, yes...we can do this! But, what do we do?? Start from scratch?? Maybe we're not THAT talented! So...we wrote it off as a dream that might happen one day. Little did we know that the stars would be aligning and presenting the opportunity to us fairly quickly.

I (Shelley) was familiar with The Bag Lady (TBL). My husband bought me a tote from the previous owner when we got married with my new initials on it. I know...such a sweetie (but that's for another blog)! I also knew friends in town who bought from TBL so I knew it's reputation. Laura was not very familiar with TBL but was very interested when I found out it was for sale. We called, we met, and it was done! We bought TBL on November 9, 2010 and our life changed!

Now that you know how we came to be, here is some info on us:

Shelley - I'm from North Louisiana (Lake Providence for those of you who are familiar) and graduated from Louisiana Tech University where I was also a member of Phi Mu. Moved to Dallas, TX for about 5 years before moving to Baton Rouge where I now live with my husband of almost 3 years! I have 3 step-kids who also keep me on my toes! From cheerleading to basketball, football and baseball...we are a traveling, on-the-go family! I have a new appreciation for what my parents did when I was a kid! Below is a pic of my family! Before you ask, yes, the boys are twins! 13 years old to be exact! My step-daughter is 11 and you can also see her on the home page of our website along with my niece! They make beautiful models!!

Laura - Born in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from Louisiana State University where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Throughout college, Laura worked in boutiques and loved the personal atmosphere the small shop offered. She became obsessed with bags, clothes and make-up! After graduation, she started real estate and became very good at it! (I know this because she is our realtor!!) Although she loved real estate, and still does, she always had a deep desire to get back into retail!! Laura has been married for almost 4 years and has a daughter who is 18 months old, into everything, and talking away! She's such a cutie!! See below!!

Laura and I met when we were independent, single women living in Baton Rouge. We were actually outside in front of our apartments working on our landscaping! :) Started talking and the rest is history!  We love The Bag Lady and we look forward to many more years to come!
